thank you for the attitude readjustment. information assimilated

i've made a career out of sampling universities in different countries. it's shameful to my parents, i know. they hate saying that their oldest kid has been in her first year of university for 5 years straight. i played around too much and i've wasted so much time and money. now i'm turning 24 and 4 months away from actually completing my first year. its probably no big deal for everyone else, they've got their degrees and now doing their masters or are in their last semester, but for me, its an achievement no matter how small. for the first time in years, i've finally focused enough to attend classes (not all though, heeee), complete ALL my assignments and show up for my presentations. hopefully i won't freak out in the next few months and actually progress to second year.

so far, i'm happy at Wmin. i'm enjoying the course i'm in, my lecturers are interesting and my classmates easy to get along with. i don't feel self-conscious about being one of the older students here because they're all about my age, save for a couple of 18 year olds. Spanish class is fun, the lecturer's always enthusiastically talking (as the Spanish do) about the latest episode of X-Factor or about some obscure (to me anyway) Flamenco dancer or imparting wisdom regarding love lives. classes are pretty informal, there's a girl eating a kebab in the class i'm in now while another major badass chick has left her sunglasses on for the duration of the seminar (i'm told she does this for most of her other classes but has no problems with her vision).

i'm restlessly shaking my legs now waiting for class to end. Mama wants some penne with zucchini and deep fried spinach balls from Carluccios.

and now my lecturer's berating the class (actually the 18 year olds in the back row) for talking. he's using the words 'pandemonium' and 'chaos'. with good reason. class is over. lunch! *crawls on top of tables towards door*
