I've gone and done it again

I realize I haven't blogged here in a year and a half but I came back just to say This Blog Is Officially Closed. I moved on to Tumblr right after neglecting this and now I'm leaving Tumblr for another woman domain. I won't be leaving my new address (because I've been feeling rather paranoid lately and typing my name into Google brings this blog up) but it'll be really easy to find me. I only changed domains. Nothing else. I'm now somewhere really common with excellent editing capabilities. Word? Let's press on, then.

If you've somehow found my "super secret" lair address, leave me a comment. I'd love to know the people who can crack my not so genius code.

Toodles, kids.

See you in another domain.

idiots are fun. no wonder every village wants one.

am in the middle of exams although that isn't an excuse not to post because i can still find time to watch DVDs, twitter and regain my appetite.

that's right. i lost my appetite for a while. but its back. in full force *phew*.

was sick for 3 weeks which i DON'T attribute at all to the fact that TaterTot abandoned me. really. i didn't get sick because she was away. only dogs do that, right?

and twitter is the other reason i've been ignoring you. everything i want to say (except this, apparently) can be crammed into 140 character tweets so you (my blog) have become almost obsolete, haven't you? and i know you (my blog) don't like it because you deliberately refuse to show the TweetTweet box in my sidebar whenever i install the code.

and everything is dark and depressing layout-wise now (think of it as the Blackle version of my blog without the actual energy saving) because i'm feeling dark and depressed. i miss home. i miss my cats. i miss my parents. and most of all, i miss my boyfriend.

going to pretend to study now.

i did the math and vanilla vodka is cheaper than IVF

hey ya'll, its been awhile. my life has taken many interesting turns since i left you. no, really. today i acquired an abundance of soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger; i've used my vacuum cleaner exactly two times and we don't use a laundry bag anymore, we use a laundry basket now. isn't my life fast-paced?

my birthday week came and went (it went by too fast, really. i was so enjoying singing "it's my birthday, you know". and who only gets to celebrate their birthday for a week? ugh. its a deteriorating society we live in when we can only eat cake 7 days in a row once a year)

my boyfriend came to surprise me for my birthday, helped us move into our new flat and got chummy enough with my dad to go far and above the recommended alcohol intake together.

my dad visited as well (as above) then went off to Barcelona (which, as a Spanish student, he really should've let me go. doesn't he know invigilators appreciate it when you can speak at length about churros?)  and then came back here again for a few hours before leaving for KL.

then my classes officially finished for the semester, handed in my last assignment and now waiting around (not with bated breath) for oral and written exams. its cruel how the university always schedules an oral exam after a long break. they're really setting us up to fail. i mean, Easter break is all about wearing bunny suits and consuming ridiculous amounts of chocolate, not about spending 3 weeks wading through ridiculous amounts of Spanish vocabulary.

and after making a pact together (well, not exactly a pact so much as having to stay here for the holidays because our parents wouldn't let us go home) to stay behind in London, Tater Tot abandoned me once my dad mentioned the words "Air Asia" and "now everyone can fly".

hmph. my boyfriend abandoned me, then my dad abandoned me and then my sister abandoned me. so i spend my lonely days watching subtitled foreign films and figuring out how to say "You abandoned me" in Spanish.

i'm also sick and being a big whiny baby about it to my boyfriend and my sister. my boyfriend unavailingly promises me chicken soup and lots of cuddles while Tater Tot feigns sympathy and rubs it in my face the fact that she's eating telur dadar at Vicchuda.

ooo and now i feel dizzy. i think i stood up too fast. must stay in bed, watch movies and eat chicken katsu curry then. because of all the dizziness, you know.

i concur in the category "it takes one to know one"

my spanish presentation went well except for the slight whimper, a whimper amplified by the microphone present, that i let out prior to starting the presentation. english assignment handed in too. and what better way to celebrate it than by hunting for a new flat to move into. Tater Tot's been doing most of the work finding house listings but i joined in on Friday. potential apartment 1 was horrible, the agent didn't even make an effort to come meet us; potential apartment 2 was ok except its a pretty damn long walk for us (for non-lazy shits, the walk is perfectly acceptable) and potential apartment 3 was scary on the outside but pretty on the inside. so clean, so white and so much space. there are....walls separating kitchen, bedroom and living area! but that's our backup. we're waiting on a couple of other flats Tater Tot looked at on Thursday. apparently, when i come along house hunting, it renders the search fruitless.

then we watched Watchmen (i bet there are thousands of people who've written that out already, "watched Watchmen") and being someone who's unfamiliar with the characters, i was completely lost (i meant to read the graphic novel before the movie but i was completing my procrastinated work). the costumes were great though, i loved Silk Spectre 1's 1940s era costume, and it has that dark (but not as dark as 300 or Sin City) vibe about it which i usually love. but it was still a little bit too long and kinda flat at times. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is hot as The Comedian though. and Matthew Goode as Adrian Veidt. and Billy Crudup's sexed up body (which i don't know is really his or some fancy computer stuff). ok, fine, most of the guys are sexy (except Rorschach) but i don't think i'm gonna watch it a second time.

commence chicken and rice night!!

didn't you F her BF when you were BFFs?

finally finished Mrs Warren's Profession (which is a bit late because i'm supposed to be reading one book per week) and i'm really quite surprised by the Victorian era books i've been reading. writing that i thought would be stuffy and cumbersome to follow is delightfully saucy thus making me want to read it more. but i'm still not done reading all the books i'm supposed to have finished by now. anyway, Mrs Warren's profession is about the oldest profession in the world: prostitution. if that doesn't make you want to read the book i don't know what will. the word 'prostitution' isn't used throughout the book, instead, Shaw uses euphemisms (one of them i can't figure out because Vivie writes it on a piece of paper and the audience doesn't know what it says but apparently it's a two word description of her mother's vocation. i'm hoping it's 'street walker'. i don't know why i like the term) so you'd think the scandal was toned down but Shaw throws in the possibility of incest in the mix. juicehhh. is Reverend Gardner Mrs Warren's baby daddy? if Vivie and Frank Gardner had gotten together, would their children have had webbed feet?

speaking of baby daddies, Oscar Wilde's A Woman Of No Importance also deals with women who get stuck with the baby while the daddy runs off and spreads his seed. scandal was the word of the day back then.

still in the middle of reading Jude The Obscure, which is also pretty good. So far, there's seduction, pregnancy scares, shotgun weddings, broken dreams, unrequited love, rebellion (by a whole school of girls. hoo ha!) and scandalous love affairs.

i'm liking them Victorians. so prim yet so transgressive.
