it's surprisingly profound for a narrative about a sponge

haven't done anything or gone anywhere interesting to talk about so i'll tell you about my trip to the supermarket today. it's mine and peebee's one year anniversary today and on such an emotional day and in such a depressing mood, naturally, i wanted profiteroles. the ones from Tesco. which you'd think would be gross tasting but oh my god its freaking good. the last time i had it, i finished the entire box/container thing by myself. although, that was an emotional day too cause tater tot and i had one of our arguments. i worked through my anger by biting through those creamy puffs topped with gooey chocolate and i wanted to work through my sadness today by inhaling the little buddies. alas, freaking Tesco was closed. its Sunday, dudes, why must you close at 5pm? its when people want to do their grocery shopping. so we trudged on to Waitrose, which didn't have profiteroles but had an extensive collection of Ben & Jerry's flavours but it too, was dark and dead to the world. instead, we went to Sainsbury's, which is the most depressing of all supermarkets. it was packed with people, had no profiteroles or Ben & Jerry's and didn't have any rubber gloves in stock (ours has a rip in it). i stomped past everything that had any nutritional value and chucked chocolate into my basket instead. it's a momentous day but one which is sad without one's boyfriend. one must drown one's self in chocolate.

even though i had my treasure trove of chocolates, i still felt like having a big celebratory dessert thing. so we decided to check out Marks & Spencers. if it was open, i could buy myself an entire Victoria Sandwich Sponge Cake and wile my night away shoving cream, raspberry jam and sponge cake into my mouth. damn M&S was closed early too so we went to the Asian supermarket next door and i got myself a Yeo's Lychee Drink which i haven't had in a while, Green Tea, Lychee Pudding with Nata De Coco (yay!) and kicap (we actually finished a bottle of kicap from all our Chicken & Rice Nights. achievement!) . and that is the story of how two procrastinators who should've done schoolwork wasted 2 hours supermarket-crawling.

go green!

*in my next post: Melbourne supermarkets vs London supermarkets.

**here's a teaser: Melbourne wins hands down.

this post comes to you courtesy of concentrated amounts of horseradish

one assignment down, one presentation, one role-play, one text analysis, one essay and a bazillion (ok, maybe not more than 3) exams to go.

i veered from my usual sit-down and eat at erm...EAT and went to Melt's across the street instead. ordered a roast beef with emmenthal cheese and horseradish ciabatta melt. the patrons at Melt's then proceeded to see a tomboy-ish looking Asian girl dropping the book she was reading and clutching her head in pain from biting into an entire horse of radish (you like that? ha. ha.) that sh*t was piled on the bread so much that my eyes started welling up with tears and i had to press the back of my skull to make the pain pass. i assume that's what snorting wasabi feels like. i scraped off the foul stuff and spread it onto my other mortal enemy: cucumbers. let them live together in the land of Gar Bage.

now let's talk electronics. recently, i've become quite the collector of dumb childhood movies and i store them all on an external hard drive. my firstborn (besides my cat) is Maxie Pants. Maxie can hold up to 250 GB of files. and i used it ALL up. on photos, music, said childhood movies, both excellent and a few sub-par tv shows. they're all so nicely compiled and organized by alphabetical order and then by seasons and then by episodes that i couldn't bear to part with any of them. so i gave birth (bought) to another hard drive. her name is LaCie Lou. she's not the LaCie Little Disk because that foxy minx is expennnnsive. but LaCie Lou's pretty small and delicate and i love her. her 320 GB self is now storing all my movies and tv shows. the point of this whole paragraph? to tell you i don't just name my cats, i name my things. my latest purchase and therefore my latest named possession is (are? you'd think learning English as a core module I would know better) my new headphones that i bought with birthday money (which is not here yet but rest assured you'll be hearing me reminding you about it). i give you...Gary Bosey. geddit? geddit? no? never mind.

i had a dream that involved cars, carparks, my mum on a bicycle, a shopping centre, a hospital in the shopping centre and me cheating on my boyfriend by kissing a fat mustached boy in a classroom. i'm so disappointed in myself. at least let it have been a full bearded James Franco.

i also dreamt i was buying cigarettes from a lovely young man behind a counter. i think my body's reminding me that i haven't smoked in weeks and is asking "hey man, where's the carcinogens?" maybe THAT'S why i have such bad cramps. my body hasn't adjusted to being toxin free.

going to watch Fringe now. ooo...i'm almost peeing with excitement.

snailio iglesias?

i'm all for mother and baby animal photos but i'm grossed out by this one. i'm not saying that snails shouldn't have babies or anything, but how can something so jelly-like be alive? i do like jellyfish though. when they're not swimming in the immediate area i'm swimming in. then we gots a problem.

also, how can you not love this dialogue? Drew's Birthday Wish. i love cakewrecks.
